Other Things to Consider... - 'Thinking Outside Of the Box'

Usually when a 'buzz' concerning a film occurs, there is usually something by which members of the public can remember the film trailer by. For example, The Dark Knight is most memorable for the 'Batman' logo. This logo can be recognised by a lot of individuals.

For our film 'The End' we have a girl who is original. She doesn't fall into the category of a 'normal villain'.

I began to take concepts such as merchandising into consideration. Producers of films usually think of how the film will be marketed to the audience. If our film was not just coursework and was really going to be made into a film, I thought it would be a good idea if we had mugs and cups of the villain, perhaps wearing a T-shirt that said 'The End' or the only statement said in our teaser trailer 'I SEE YOU' - Immediately, we are linking the film or in this case, the trailer, with an object that the audience of this film can have access to. Due to the nature of the film, the targeted audience of these pieces of merchandise would be older adults.

- It doesn't hurt thinking outside the box, every now and again, right ? :)
